Puppy Theo’s PRAA Surgery Fund

Meet Theodore – One Brave Little Fighter 🐾

At only 12 weeks old, Theodore has already faced more hardship than most pups ever should. He had arrived at a southern California shelter completely malnourished and covered in fleas. When we learned of him, we worked hard to secure a foster family so we could exit this sweet little boy.  He was then transported by our volunteers and taken to the veterinary hospital for examination.

We learned Theodore was suffering from Persistent Right Aortic Arch (PRAA), or vascular ring anomaly, which is a congenital anomaly of the blood vessels of the heart that result in constriction of the esophagus. Little Theo's esophagus was so full of fluid it made it impossible for him to keep food down. He required immediate surgery to survive.

On September 23rd, Theodore underwent surgery—and this little champ pulled through! He is now eating on his own and, for the first time, keeping food down. Theodore is being closely monitored by our incredible veterinary team. For now, he eats while sitting in a Bailey chair to help his food move into his stomach. If his progress continues, he may avoid needing a feeding tube, but if he does need a tube he will need a second  surgery.

💙  The total cost of Theodore’s surgery and care is about $6,000. As a small rescue, this is a heavy financial burden, but we know Theodore’s life is worth every penny.

Your support will go directly toward covering Theodore’s medical expenses.

🙏 Every donation, no matter the size, helps us continue to save dogs like Theodore. Thank you for being part of his healing journey.
