Imagine a community where each person makes a daily choice to invest in the collective future of our youth. This is the reality at The Pathfinder School (Pathfinder).

For nearly 50 years, Pathfinder has provided the Traverse City area with an independent education option. Our PreK - 8th Grade students develop an enthusiasm for learning through a broad and adaptive curriculum and small class sizes. Each student has the flexibility to pursue their individual social, personal, and academic interests in a safe, caring, and respectful environment.

Being an independent school means that we are a nonprofit organization. We rely on our annual campaign and your financial support to bridge the gap between what tuition covers and the full cost of a Pathfinder education experience. If the tuition price was increased to include all costs, many families would be unable to afford the cost of an independent school experience, and this would exclude those talented and deserving young students who would add so much to the Pathfinder community. Greatest Needs-This allows us to remain flexible and meet the unanticipated needs and challenges that emerge in this rapidly changing climate.
Exceptional Faculty-Our faculty development program ensures that we can select and retain the best, well-trained teachers and specialists in world languages, art, and music.
Our Beautiful Campus- Our 22-acre campus nestled between Cedar Lake and West Grand Traverse Bay allows Pathfinder students to explore experiential learning in our living laboratory.
