For over a decade I have participated in New York City’s Five Boro Bike Ride to raise money for causes important to me and my family. This year I am riding to support a cause that is even closer to home: The Sylvia Center. As most of you know, my wife, Barbara Glassman, serves as the Executive Director of the Slyvia Center. I am thrilled this year to have a chance to support an organization that is doing such great work in New York City and upstate. The Syliva Center works to create healthy communities through the power of cooking, having served more than 40,000 individuals at over 50 schools in all five of New York City’s boroughs as well as in Columbia Country and New York’s Capital District. Your support is critical for helping The Sylvia Center to continue its work bringing educators to schools to teach students to experience healthy foods, and to provide apprenticeships to teens to explore careers in food and health-related fields. On May 4th I will once again be riding 40 miles through all 5 boros of New York City to raise money to support this outstanding organization.
