Tilapia Farm

ChristAid International is building a fish farm to raise tilapia in Kicuna, Uganda! This project will provide needed protein for our Ahadi Kids and our Grandmas for Jesus, and it will generate a revenue "stream" that will help the ministry in Uganda continue to "flow" in the direction of self-sustainability.

We have already purchased a perfect, stream-fed property that adjoins our small farm. The lot has been leveled and secured and the dam has been installed. We're ready to dig and line the ponds, and then we'll purchase 15,000 tilapia fingerlings, which our staff and students will learn to care for and cultivate. After the first harvest, the project will be virtually self-sustaining while producing sustaining revenues for the ministry in Uganda. This is no fish tale! It's innovative stuff, and the first of its kind in the region.
