Healing Options for Post-traumatic Experiences (HOPE)

Healing Options for Post-Traumatic Experiences (HOPE) is a nonprofit that will provide MDMA-assisted psychotherapy, education, and complementary therapies to individuals and communities that have experienced chronic trauma.

While HOPE seeks to support all survivors of trauma, we will focus our attention on partnering with the individuals and communities that are most affected by chronic trauma, and who typically experience the most barriers to accessing high-quality, cutting-edge therapy. We strive to work in respectful alignment with BIPOC, LGBTQ, Immigrant, and economically oppressed individuals and communities. It is our goal to be able to provide MDMA-assisted psychotherapy, and complementary therapies, and to share resources regardless of the individuals' ability to pay. HOPE believes that everyone deserves to find safety in themselves, and we also believe it is necessary to share resources and access to care in a fair and equitable manner.

MDMA Assisted psychotherapy announced the completion of its second Phase 3 clinical trials on November 17, 2022, and is slated to become approved by the FDA as a treatment for PTSD in 2023. Study results are extremely encouraging; 12 months following the progress of study participants, 67% of the individuals who underwent MDMA-assisted psychotherapy no longer qualified for a diagnosis of PTSD. The implications of this provide much hope to individuals who live with the effects of chronic trauma

In addition to providing assisted psychotherapy, HOPE will provide trauma-informed body/mind therapies, and will seek to provide education about trauma and healing to survivors, allies, and healthcare professionals.

The board of HOPE currently consists of four trauma therapists and three non-profit professionals. We have a clear plan and are well aware of the challenges we face as we establish ourselves.

HOPE successfully met our first milestone of incorporation as a 501c3 non-profit in September 2022. We are now fundraisings to secure the services of professional grant writers who will help us financially sustain our mission. We are asking friends, family, and members of our larger communities for help in getting HOPE off the ground.

Please consider making a financial contribution towards our mission. No donation is too small!
