This Pride Month, the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund cordially invites you to our second annual virtual storytelling event, curated especially with transgender and non-binary young people (and our families!) in mind.
Please join us for Pride & Joy, where writers, entertainers, activists, and everyday heroes, will read a specially-curated selection of stories written by transgender and non-binary authors or featuring a trans person as the main character. This virtual event creates an uplifting space where transgender young people, their friends, and families, can join in the community and experience the transformative power of storytelling in helping us see ourselves and connect along our shared experience.
Why Pride & Joy?
There has never been a more important time to provide trans young people with space to be proud and joyful about who they are. To date, there are more than 30 states with over 100 anti-transgender bills that would explicitly ban transgender young people from participating in school sports, criminalize gender affirming health care to transgender young people under the age of 18, or both. This June, PRIDE & JOY makes it especially clear to transgender young people, their families, and the larger community that our lives are worthy of being celebrated.
