Farmworkers play a vital role in providing the food we eat, but they often face difficult and dangerous working conditions. Many farmworkers are immigrants, and they frequently experience unfair treatment—both at work and in their communities. As attacks on immigrant communities intensify, we are standing together to fight for justice for farmworkers—in their work, homes, and livelihoods.

National Farmworker Awareness Week, which happens every year from March 25–31, is a time to raise awareness about these issues and take action. This year, the need for change is even greater. Farmworkers, many of whom are people of color, face growing challenges that include unsafe working conditions, low wages, and lack of basic rights.

SAF empowers young people—high school and college students, many from farmworker families themselves—to become leaders in the fight for farmworker justice. Through training, mentorship, stipends, and scholarships, SAF equips these students with the tools they need to take meaningful action in their communities.

This summer, SAF interns will reach nearly 4,000 farmworkers across the Carolinas, providing vital resources such as food, healthcare, legal support, and know-your-rights training.
