Founded by Liana Zavo, the Top Jewish People Foundation Inc. is a beacon of hope and empowerment for the next generation of Jewish leaders. Liana, a Jewish refugee who fled her homeland of Tajikistan at the age of three, knows firsthand the challenges of seeking a better future. During the tumultuous civil war in the Soviet Union, her family sought refuge in Vienna, Austria, where they spent five years before finally reuniting with her extended family in New York in 1995.

Throughout her journey, Liana has been a source of strength and resilience, not only for herself but also for her siblings, whom she supported academically. Her dedication to education led her to pursue a career in communications and public relations, inspired by her grandmother’s legacy as a political journalist. This passion for storytelling fueled her success in establishing a globally recognized public relations agency, ZavoMedia PR Group where she became a prominent figure in the industry.

In the wake of the tragic events following the attack on Israel on October 7th, Liana felt a profound calling to give back to her community. Driven by her desire to nurture the next generation of Jewish changemakers, she founded the Top Jewish People Foundation, creating a safe space for mentorship in orphanages, high schools, and colleges. Liana’s commitment to mentorship is deeply personal; as a young mother, she has always prioritized guiding her son, who is now a college student, and understands the transformative power of support, mentorship, and guidance.

Through her organization, Liana pairs mentors with mentees, fostering personal and professional growth among young adults. Her vision is to cultivate a new generation of successful leaders, skilled communicators, and, most importantly, compassionate changemakers within the Jewish community. The Top Jewish People Foundation stands as a testament to Liana's unwavering belief in the potential of every young individual to make a meaningful impact in their communities and beyond.

Her motto remains steadfast: mentorship ignites transformation and inspires the next generation. Liana's goal for 2024 is to give away 1,000 backpacks to schools and students that will benefit from the mentorship program, ensuring that young individuals from orphanages, high schools and college have the essential resources they need to thrive.
