Totally Positive Productions (TPP) is a 501©(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization founded in 1993 by Tajudeena Jones, MBA, a U.S. Veteran, with a mission to produce Positive Rap (P-RAP), Singing, Dance, Theater, and Spoken Word Talent Competitions/Concerts. We also create positive “Off the Street” activities for youth and adults as a deterrent to gang and drug involvement. Our programs serve economically disadvantaged communities in Chicago, including Englewood, West Englewood, and Back of the Yards, which are among the city’s most violent neighborhoods with high poverty rates.
TPP offers innovative programs like the Community Works Crime Prevention Project, Educational/Cultural Enrichment Field Trips, and Youth/Adult/Senior Citizen Youth Employment and Training Program. Additionally, we provide Community Service Hours for school and court requirements, Hunger Relief, and the Love Your Community - Random Acts of Kindness Initiative. Our annual budget is $330,000, primarily funded by $300,000 in donations. To date, we have positively impacted over 30,000 youth, young adults, and their families.
Our board of directors, composed of nine dedicated members from the community, supervises our programs and spearheads fundraising activities. We collaborate with various community partners to enhance our outreach and effectiveness. At TPP, we aim to foster a welcoming environment where youth can grow mentally, academically, and socially, empowering them to become productive adults and transform their communities.
