To the Skyland Public Art Fund

We are thrilled to reveal To the Skyland as Big Sky’s next Public Art piece. Brad Rude tells the tale of a wolf on his own quest with his latest sculpture, To the Skyland. Looking ahead on his journey, the wolf strides forward with the aid of two wheels and a walking stick. Like many of us, we are looking forward to our next adventure in Big Sky Country. 

A storyteller at heart, Brad Rude’s sculptures and paintings of animals spark our imaginations. His capricious anthropomorphic subjects emulate humans in stories that mimic our own lives. Rude uses analogies and metaphors so viewers can identify with animal characteristics and see themselves in the tale Rude has started for us to complete on our own.
