Trans Joy Akron (TJA) is a trans-led, 100% volunteer non-profit dedicated to serving the trans+ community. Focused on joy and thriving, TJA hosts monthly gatherings, provides educational opportunities, and empowers future leaders. We are excited to be hosting:

Akron's Third Annual Trans Pride at the Park Cookout and Field Day

Hardesty Park - Akron, Ohio

Trans Pride at the Park is a cost-free, all-ages event with an expected attendance of 200+. Scheduled for July 18, we provide a bridge between June Pride Month and Akron Pride in August, turning all of summer into a celebration!

A Great Meal: In addition to traditional cook-out food, we offer vegan, sugar-free, and gluten-free options.

Field Day Activities: Volunteers run casual games for all ages and abilities as well as more competitive games.

Professional Security Trusted by the Community: Sufficient, respectful security is necessary at a pride event this large.

Recovery Tent with shade, first aid supplies, and cold drinks.

In 2025, Trans Joy Akron:

· Served over 1,100 community members.

· Hosted 14 events, including monthly meetups, educational workshops, Trans Day of Visibility, and Trans Day of Remembrance.

· Benefitted from 57 volunteers working 2050+ hours!

· Reached 1,700+ followers on Instagram and 850+ on Facebook.

In 2026, Trans Joy Akron is adding two new programs:

· Two monthly LGBTQ/SGL Youth Groups (for middle school and high school students) in partnership with the Bayard Rustin LGBTQ Resource Center.

· A Trans-led ally workshop, "Beyond Pronouns: Cultivating Trans Joy Through Allyship."
