Travis Hovatter chose Brandywine Valley SPCA as his charity.  A significant organization in the region, known for its extensive work in animal welfare. As the largest animal welfare organization in the area, the BVSPCA plays a crucial role in rescuing, sheltering, and rehoming animals. One of its standout features is being one of the few remaining open-access shelters. Open-access shelters are committed to accepting all animals in need, regardless of their health status, age, or behavior. This approach contrasts with limited-access shelters that may have more stringent criteria for intake. The BVSPCA not only provides shelter and care for animals but also engages in community education, advocacy, and spay/neuter programs to help address the root causes of animal homelessness. Their comprehensive approach supports both the immediate needs of animals and long-term solutions for improving animal welfare in the community.
