Influential maternal health advocates, public health leaders, and community activists from the NYC area and beyond will gather on Thurs 10/17 from 6-9 pm in Brooklyn. Be among the first to experience the nationwide launch of our new public awareness initiative Stillness is an Illness, and the first to see the captivating short film PUSH, written and directed by Ingrid Haas.

About the PUSH film

The 7-minute film follows Julia and Jack Hart, a Black couple in the final weeks of a "textbook" pregnancy. When Julia senses something is off and raises concerns about altered fetal movement (AFM), it sparks a pivotal decision that takes viewers on a fast-paced emotional ride, glitching between two parallel universes. The film highlights the urgent need for a standardized response to AFM—and most importantly—encourages families and healthcare professionals to recognize and treat stillness as an illness.

About the event

The launch event is a chance to gather as a community and amplify the conversation about preventable stillbirth and altered fetal movement.

Drinks, light bites, and entertainment will be provided. The screening of the film will be followed by a panel discussion that dives deeper into the film’s themes with thought leaders to explore how we can reshape policies and protocols.
