Trees for the Northwestern Band of the Shoshone Nation

In 2018, the Northwestern Band of the Shoshone Nation purchased 350 acres of its ancestral land along Wuda Ogwa (Bear River), and in 2021, began a massive restoration project. Their goal is to bring back the wetlands and restore the land back to its historic condition by planting native trees and plants across the land. The tribe is also assisting greatly in restoring the Bear River and rechanneling it toward the Great Salt Lake, a mission that will help our entire region.

TreeUtah participates in the tribe’s annual Community Planting Days. Each year we welcome more and more volunteers who come from all around, ready to make a difference.
