The mental health struggle is real. Some days are better than others. And some days are worse. If you know me, you might think that my disposition is all sunshine and rainbows. But sometimes it’s not and I struggle to get out of bed. Whenever I’m in a funk, I have learned to prioritize self care and running has always been a vital part of my personal routine. The lacing up is the hardest part! The longest distance I’ve ever run at one time was 5 miles, so this will be my first endurance run and I’m excited to challenge myself personally while also raising money and awareness for mental health. To my two friends - you know who you are - who told me in a booth at El Cholo ten years ago to do this, I’M FINALLY DOING IT! I’m running for myself, my family, friends and anyone else who struggles with depression, anxiety or other mental health conditions. We got this!
