Course Description

Sūrah al-Kahf is among the most frequently recited and beloved chapters of the Qur’an, offering timeless guidance on faith, trials, and navigating the complexities of life.

This course provides a guided tafsīr of Sūrah al-Kahf, exploring its structure, central themes, and four major narratives. Through these stories, students will reflect on the trials of faith, wealth, knowledge, and power—and how the Qur’an teaches us to respond to each with clarity, humility, and reliance upon Allah.

Alongside insights from the classical tafsīr tradition, the course emphasizes reflection and practical application. Participants will learn how to draw meaningful lessons from the sūrah and apply them to contemporary challenges, strengthening their understanding, perspective, and connection to the Qur’an.

This course is part of a broader series exploring the meanings of commonly recited and essential sūrahs, helping students build a deeper and more consistent relationship with the Qur’an.

The course will draw from, among other sources, classical tafsīr works such as those of al-Ṭabarī, al-Ṣābūnī, and al-Saʿdī.

Who Should Attend

Adults seeking a deeper, more reflective engagement with the Qur’an and its meanings. Youth and young adults are also welcome. Suitable for the general community with no formal prerequisites.
