The Surge Project, Incorporated, founded in June 2016, is a 501(c)(3) organization birthed out of the pain and understanding of tragic loss due to gun violence. Our staff, volunteers, and board of directors are comprised of licensed professionals and local community organizers who demonstrate integrity, dedication, and patience in our philanthropic efforts. We have consistently served in District 6 (West End) and District 7 (Central Park) of Birmingham, Alabama which are high concentrated crime areas. We provide academic intervention, workforce development, conflict resolution workshops, mobile mentorship, and professional counseling.

We provide the services as a means to connect young adults to light, life, and hope. One of the ways we do that is by making sure people know they are not simply receiving services— they are joining a lifelong family. It is our unique quality that we feel caters to the basic human need for love and belonging.
