Artsakh Resettlement Program
The Tufenkian Foundation has been on the forefront of active resettlement in Artsakh for years. Following the 2020 Artsakh War, the need for resettling internally displaced families is greater than ever before. We will be renovating several homes in the villages to Martuni to provide housing for displaced families.

Civil Society Development
Civil society development in Armenia has been at the forefront of the Foundation’s activities from day one. Throughout the years, we have implemented numerous programs which aim to combat poverty; promote education; protect the environment; renew national, civic, and cultural values; and foster social justice and respect for human rights.

Church and Monument Protection
The Tufenkian Foundation has a longstanding record on renovating, restoring, and protecting historic churches and monuments throughout Artsakh. Following the 2020 Artsakh War, the Foundation was a part of an effort to document—via photography, photogrammetry, and 3D laser scanning—the major Armenian cultural monuments in the areas which were to pass under Azerbaijani control. Currently, the Tufenkian Foundation has partnered with several groups to document and monitor the condition of these and other monuments using satellite observation and other means.

Family and Community NGO
The Family and Community NGO addresses the poorest and most vulnerable strata of Armenian society, implementing programs for social and psychological support; empowerment of families; capacity building for youth and children; identification and development of resources; and community development.

Household Economic Development
Our Household Economic Development program is funding household-level agricultural development, providing customized economic assistance for each of the 185 families currently engaged in agricultural activity in Artsakh's Herher, Tsovategh, and Kherkhan villages, as well as for additional families in nearby Machkalashen village.

Humanitarian Assistance
For over two decades, the Tufenkian Foundation has provided aid to those in need in both Artsakh and Armenia. Following the 2020 war, we have expanded our humanitarian assistance program to provide food and basic essentials to displaced families in Armenia and newly returned families in Artsakh.

Martuni Healthcare Development Initiative
Our Martuni Healthcare Development Initiative will continue to renovate community medical clinics (buzhkets) across Martuni's villages and provide training and emergency kits for approximately 250 people across the Herher cluster, including clinic nurses, first responders, village administrators, schoolteachers and high school students. Through this initiative, we will also station a diasporan physician with many years of field experience in developing countries in the Martuni Regional Hospital to mentor physicians and treat patients.

Mining Legislation Reform Institute (MLRI)
The Mining Legislation Reform Institute (MLRI) is a registered Armenian NGO, which seeks to ensure that mining in Armenia provides sufficient benefits to the country and local communities. The Institute’s activities are made possible largely through funding from the Tufenkian Foundation.

Tufenkian For Martuni's Schools
Several schools in the town and villages of Martuni are in need of desperate attention. Through the Tufenkian For Martuni's Schools program, we will continue to provide learning materials and technology to ensure that future generations learn in a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment. The program will also expand the Machkalashen village school building, so that each grade can have its own classroom, and so that there will be room for the additional students of families being resettled in the area.

Women’s Support Center
The mission of the Women’s Support Center is simple—to create a safe environment for women in Armenia. The Center works hard to prevent and respond to domestic violence, while upholding progressive values that promote the political, economic, and social rights of women.

Wounded Soldier Support
We have provided support for soldiers wounded during the Artsakh Liberation War and the April 2016 War, by providing renovated or new houses to veterans in various parts of Artsakh. Following the latest war in Artsakh, the need is now greater than ever before.

General Fund
Since our inception, we have supported various community initiatives and civic activism/public advocacy campaigns to help improve life in Armenia, while providing housing, education, social, health, and livelihood support for the Armenians of Artsakh.
