Join us in celebration of Black Maternal Health Week for Tunza Market, a community-centered experience created by Black Birth Equity NOW (BBEN).

"Tunza" means to care for, to look after-and this gathering is rooted in that spirit. Tunza Market is designed as a dynamic, in-person experience that centers care across the full perinatal journey, bringing together families, birthworkers, and community resources in one space.

Rather than a traditional vendor fair, Tunza Market is organized using a Pathways Model, allowing participants to move intentionally through stages of the reproductive and parenting journey:

Prepare (preconception and reproductive health)
Carry (pregnancy and prenatal support)
Birth (labor, advocacy, and early feeding)
Nurture (postpartum recovery, parenting, and tamily support
Thrive (economic empowerment, workforce development, and community resources)

This experience is designed to:

Increase access to culturally relevant perinatal resources
Strengthen connections between families and trusted providers
Highlight the work of Black birthworkers and community leaders
