March 3rd is the day.

Twix will undergo TPLO surgery on March 3rd following his orthopedic appointment at UW–Madison. He’ll be staying in Madison the night before so he can be ready first thing in the morning.

This sweet 80-lb house hippo has no idea how big this is. He just knows he has people fighting for him.

TPLO surgery is life-changing — but it’s also expensive. The cost is estimated at $5,000–$6,500 per leg. Twix will have one leg repaired on March 3rd and will be reassessed in 8 weeks. If healing goes well, we’ll move forward with surgery on the other leg.

That means we are potentially looking at $10,000–$13,000 to fully stabilize both knees.

But stability means:

• Less pain

• Proper mobility

• A real chance at a long, active life

One leg at a time. One step at a time. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported Twix’s Total Tibia Turnaround Fund so far. If you’ve been waiting for a sign to donate — this is it. Every share, every dollar, every prayer matters.

Please keep Twix in your thoughts on March 3rd. We will update as soon as we know more.

Let’s give this handsome hippo the strong foundation he deserves. 💙🐾
