Theatre for Young Audiences/USA (TYA/USA) is the national service organization supporting the professional field of theatre for children and families. Your gift isn’t just supporting one organization. It’s supporting the TYA field at large. Our mission is to connect, cultivate, and advocate for the field of Theatre for Young Audiences by providing opportunities and resources in programming, professional development, research, and leadership. We represent member theatres, organizations, and individual artists across 46 states.

As we prepare for 2026, TYA/USA is facing a significant challenge: We will experience a 76% reduction in state and federal support.

Continuing the TYA Fund in partnership with the Theater League of Kansas City: $125,000 of unrestricted funds given to midsize TYA Member Theatres across the United States
Hosting the 2026 Festival & Conference at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, GA (May 27–29, 2026)
Launching the inaugural Alliance Theatre & TYA/USA Theatre for the Very Young Development Program, supporting the creation of a new work for ages 0–5
Continuing our year-round programs: webinars, affinity groups, job listings, research initiatives, and online publications that sustain and uplift the field

2025 IMPACT HIGHLIGHTS

We created the TYA Fund in partnership with the Theater League of Kansas City: $125,000 of unrestricted funds given to 19 midsize TYA Member Theatres across the United States
500+ theatre-makers from around the world engaged directly with our in-person and virtual programs.
350+ attendees came together in Maryland for the 2025 TYA/USA Festival & Conference — featuring live performances, innovative breakout sessionsI and a powerful closing conversation with Justice Sonia Sotomayor.
100+ leaders joined the TYA Leadership Summit to shape the future of the field.
25 artists and students attended the conference for free through our Access for All Scholarship Program.
We launched the first-ever TYA Research & Scholarship Working Group — advancing national understanding of TYA’s impact.
Our Emerging Leader Fellowship supported three artists through mentorship, travel, and research — building a new generation of TYA leaders.
We met with members of Congress and Senators on Capitol Hill to advocate for increased arts funding across the national TYA sector
