Equine therapy is a valuable tool of healing for survivors, and one of their favorite! This is why we are so passionate about it and why we are raising funds to continue to provide it:
Equine therapy provides:
1. Trust and Connection: Survivors can build trust and form connections with horses, aiding in the recovery of trust issues stemming from their trauma.
2. Emotional Regulation: Interacting with horses helps survivors identify and regulate emotions in a supportive setting.
3. Grounding and Mindfulness: Outdoor sessions promote grounding and mindfulness, reducing symptoms of hyperarousal and dissociation.
4. Empowerment: Working with horses fosters a sense of control and empowerment, boosting survivors' confidence and self-efficacy.
5. Physical Benefits: Activities like grooming and riding improve physical coordination and provide positive body experiences.
Incorporating equine therapy into treatment plans offers survivors a holistic approach to healing, addressing their emotional, physical, and relational needs effectively.
