When Dallas Animal Service reached out to us about sweet Flora, we knew we needed to act fast. She was found stuck in a drainage ditch, barely hanging on, severely underweight at just over 31 pounds, and extremely dehydrated. It was clear that life had been incredibly harsh on this young girl. Despite her frail condition, she greeted everyone with a wagging tail and a sweetness that melted hearts.

Flora’s journey to recovery is just beginning. Due to her severe malnutrition, she is suffering from regenerative anemia, and her liver enzymes are alarmingly out of balance. She has been on IV fluids and anti-nausea medication to help with vomiting, and we are doing everything we can to give her the strength she needs. Flora is being fed high-nutrient, calorie-rich food to help her gain the much-needed weight to survive.

But Flora can’t do this alone—she needs a loving foster home to help her heal and grow stronger. A place where she can rest, receive proper care, and experience the warmth of human companionship she so desperately craves.
