Hope and Healing Retreats

Join us in 2026 to create three trauma-informed healing retreats for survivors of human trafficking and their caregivers!

Overview

Hope & Healing Retreats are trauma-informed retreats created to support women survivors of human trafficking and the frontline staff who walk alongside them. Justice ACTs has been working against human trafficking since 2008, primarily in the Global South, and is uniquely positioned to collaborate with and support partner organizations serving both those who have been exploited and those carrying the weight of secondary trauma.

As our Executive Director often says, “If you are going to work with broken people, you will be cut by their sharp edges.”
These retreats respond to that reality by creating intentional space for restoration, resilience, and long-term wellbeing through partnership, shared care, and trauma-informed support.

Why This Matters

Survivors of human trafficking experience prolonged and complex trauma that affects their physical health, emotional wellbeing, relationships, and sense of safety. Without trauma-informed care, long-term healing and stability can be difficult to sustain.

Frontline caregivers—advocates, case managers, and service providers—carry daily exposure to others’ trauma. When this secondary trauma is left unaddressed, it often leads to burnout, compassion fatigue, and weakened systems of care.

By working alongside local organizations, Hope & Healing Retreats integrate trauma-informed practices, professional support, and restorative space to:

  • Support deeper, sustainable healing for survivors

  • Strengthen caregiver resilience and longevity

  • Reduce burnout among frontline workers

  • Protect and strengthen long-term care systems

Our first retreat will take place in March, with two additional retreats scheduled later this year. We are grateful to partner in this work and to support spaces where rest, healing, and hope can take root.
