ABOUT WARSAW FREEDOM INSTITUTE

The Warsaw Freedom Institute exists to fill a critical gap in the transatlantic landscape: we are the ONLY U.S.-based institution dedicated to strengthening the U.S.–Poland alliance through leadership development, civic engagement, and strategic dialogue.

At a time when democracy is under pressure, security alliances are being tested, and geopolitical dynamics are shifting, Poland has emerged as a pivotal player — not just in Europe, but in global security and economic resilience. Yet, Poland’s voice remains underrepresented in the policy circles, institutions, and conversations shaping U.S. foreign policy.

We’re here to change that.

What We Do:

The Warsaw Freedom Institute operates at the intersection of leadership development, security, and international cooperation. We provide a platform for emerging leaders from Poland, the U.S., and Central Europe to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate complex global challenges. Our programs focus on transatlantic relations, leadership in security and strategy, and fostering cross-cultural understanding. We provide grants and scholarships to support individuals and institutions aligned with our mission.

WFI is building a permanent presence in Washington, D.C. to:

  • Amplify Poland’s strategic importance in U.S. policy and defense dialogue.
  • Cultivate the next generation of Polish and American civic leaders through fellowships, exchange, and our Leadership School.
  • Convene high-level forums and conversations that bring together experts, military leaders, policymakers, and business voices to shape shared priorities.
  • Build a community of supporters who believe in the values of democracy, freedom, and transatlantic unity.

What Makes WFI Different:

We’re not just a think tank, we’re a bridge between Poland and the U.S., and a launchpad for ideas and leaders who can shape the future of the alliance. We bring together:

  • Strategic programming in D.C. and Warsaw
  • A growing network of defense, diplomatic, and private-sector experts
  • High-impact convenings, like our inaugural 2025 conference viewed globally
  • A commitment to nonpartisan, forward-thinking leadership

Why We Need Donors:

Your support is not just a gift, it’s an investment in the future of the U.S.–Poland relationship, in transatlantic security, and in democratic leadership. WFI is still young, but we are positioned for exponential impact with the right backing. Philanthropic support fuels our:

  • Leadership programs
  • Convenings
  • Fellowship opportunities
  • Institutional growth
