Food Safety Net For Hamilton County Residents

Grocery Buddies: providing emergency aid for families and seniors.

“To connect donors with individuals and families in need of groceries, and to support food access and community assistance programs.”

This started as a post in a Facebook moms group, with someone wanting to be a Grocery Buddy for families losing SNAP due to the government shutdown. There was such a need, we decided to continue and expand out programs to help Hamilton County residents facing benefit lapse, eviction, or utility shut-off.

Over 60% of the 287 individuals helped in the first 30 days were children. Your donation will help people in your community directly. We’re happy to let you know who your contribution helped, if requested

A Grocery Buddy buys a round of groceries for a family in need. Recommend $50/person in the household, but that's a suggestion. Options are to shop and deliver, meet at store, gift cards. Your donation helps provide a stable program and grocery support for individuals referred by social workers, as well as community members.

We also receive referrals from agencies that support elderly, disabled, and foster families.
