About Us

UnLocal is a community-centered non-profit organization that is dedicated to empowering undocumented immigrants in New York. Our mission is centered around providing compassionate legal representation, community education, outreach, and advocacy.

We invite you to stand with immigrant communities by supporting UnLocal’s mission with a year-end contribution.

In 2025, our communities have faced escalating threats under an administration whose policies have emboldened profiling, expanded detention, and even permitted masked, unidentified agents to abduct immigrants from public spaces. These are not abstract political shift–these are daily realities that heighten fear, destabilize families, and place lives at risk.

And yet, our community refuses to be quieted. Their voices—your voices—have only grown stronger. 

As we look toward 2026, we are asking you to carry the spirit of VOICES ! 

Your generosity fuels real and measurable impact. This year, donor support helped us:

• Connect 1,114 individuals and families to high-quality, culturally grounded legal services—supporting asylum seekers, defending workplace dignity, and helping clients build long-term stability through visas and green cards.

• Ensure the safety of 2,762 community members through “Know Your Rights” trainings, emergency preparedness workshops, and education on policies that affect immigrant families.

• Provide essential resources through community-centered events like the Immigrant Wellness Resource Fair, Winter Coat Drive, and School Supply Giveaway—meeting immediate needs with dignity, respect, and care

Where will your donation go?

$25 One time/ UnLocal Ally  -  Many immigration applications require two passport photographs and these costs add up. Also, in our virtual world, we rely more than ever before on technology to allow us to do our work. A monthly donation of $25 would cover passport photos for two applications or our Zoom costs each month.

$50 One time/ UnLocal Ally  -  We prioritize language access so that we can communicate with our clients and community members. A monthly donation of $50 would pay for one 50 minute phone call each month using a telephonic interpreter, when communicating in a language other than those spoken by our staff.

$100 One time/ UnLocal Ally - Our staff is growing and whether we are working from home or working in the office, we rely heavily on our phone provider to keep us connected. A monthly donation of $100 would support the cost of our monthly phone bill.

$250 One time/ UnLocal Ally - Virtual solutions are more important now than ever before, and a monthly donation of $250 would pay for the cost of our file sharing web-based account each month.

$500 One time/UnLocal Ally - DACA is an administrative relief that protects eligible immigrants who came to the United States when they were children from deportation. It provides: 1) protection from deportation, and 2) a work permit. The program requires that the DACA status and work permit be renewed every two years. A $500 donation would cover one DACA renewal application.

$1000 One time/UnLocal Ally - USCIS consistently raises application fees and fee waivers are difficult to receive. A monthly donation of $1000 would cover the cost of two employment authorization applications or other application fees for individuals represented by UnLocal.
