My name is Jennifer you can call me Jenny. I am happily married and have three amazing sons who have all grown into remarkable young men. I am very proud of their educational achievements and success.

I am a teacher. So I truly hope you can understand the deep concern and heartfelt dismay I experience when faced with the reality that, in this day and age of abundant resources and educational possibilities, there exist children living in poverty who lack access to the life-changing power of education. This situation weighs heavily on my heart as I witness the potential hope of these children being hindered by circumstances beyond their control.

I was privileged to be asked to come and teach in a school, in Kumasi, Ghana, just for two months. The memories still bring a smile to my face - it was truly an enlightening experience. The owner had a noble vision to build a school for underprivileged children, where the pressing, desperate need was education. I could see it, feel, It seems to permeate the atmosphere. The profound needs of these young souls resonated deeply, evoking a sense of sorrow within me. Education is the only escape from the chains of poverty, to unlock these children's future. It seemed to echo around this school, that had taken this now aged man, 20 years to build. Witnessing the founder's unwavering commitment to uplift his community from the shadows of destitution was genuinely inspiring. His narrative deeply affected me, underscoring the significant influence of education in disrupting the cycle of poverty. . I saw what drove him. Broken, hopeless uneducated men and women, some of his old school friends, with nothing, “I had to do something” he said. As I listened to his heartfelt words, I could understand how he felt and shared his yearning for positive change.

What could I do, I asked myself? Every parent wants their child to be educated, to achieve, to fulfil their dreams, don’t they? What could we do, what could I do to help? The one thing that shone through, with these expectant black, bright-eyed children, was that they wanted to go to school to learn. I watched the rackety crammed old minibus filled with 25 smiling, happy children, a 17-seater, running to and from school. One little girl, Sandy-love, would squeeze into the bus, along with many others, hoping today the bus would not break down, but see another day.

It was heart-warming to witness someone learning about the funds required and the state of the minibus, making a donation for a new engine, that will lengthen its life span, just a little longer. Praise God was the collective exclamations. It still looks rackety to me though. Lol. The school is desperate for transportation to go into the impoverished yet bustling poverty-stricken villages, to pick up the children, who would otherwise be hustling on the streets, to bring them to school to learn and change their tomorrow, unlocking possibilities. This is the essence of the BCI fund page. I felt compelled to act, as I gazed at my three educated boys, now grown men.

So it is, a heartfelt call to action. It cannot be delayed. Let's unite in support, providing tangible evidence of care for these children. Every donation counts towards sending 3 coaches to bring children to school and take them home. We can do it! Together, we can ignite change and weave a brighter future for the children in Kumasi Ghana, unlocking endless possibilities ahead.
