The Trail Assistance Program (TAP) is a community-support initiative of The LOVE Foundation VA created to assist people using the Virginia Capital Trail and approved nearby routes when an unexpected non-medical issue prevents them from safely continuing their journey.

Whether it’s a bicycle breakdown, equipment failure, dangerous weather, a family emergency, or another qualifying situation, TAP helps connect eligible trail users with practical assistance when resources are available.

The LOVE Foundation VA is a Virginia-based nonprofit advancing community development through leadership, entrepreneurship, volunteerism, and meaningful partnerships.

Through programs such as TAP, we work to make outdoor recreation safer, more accessible, and more connected to the communities surrounding the Virginia Capital Trail.
