Drong Ngur Winter Retreat 2026
Friday, January 23rd - Sunday, February 1st.
Join us this year for our Annual Winter Retreat and Teachings, with Drupon Thinley Ningpo Rinpoche and Khenpo Tenzin Nyima Rinpoche at Drong Ngur Jangchubling,
Friday, January 23rd, 7-9pm: Drupon Rinpoche will open the retreat by welcoming everyone with a short meditation and Dharma Talk.
Saturday, January 24th, 10am-12pm & 2-5pm: Namgyalma Empowerment: Drupon Thinley Ningpo Rinpoche will bestow the empowerment of Namgyalma, a long-life deity whose practice can purify all karmas and obstacles to spiritual health and long life.
Sunday, January 25th, 10am-12pm & 2-5pm and Monday January 26 to Tuesday, January 27th, 2-5pm & 7-9pm: Drupon Rinpoche will give teachings on the Bardo, the intermediate state between death and rebirth. These teachings are essential for all practitioners preparing for the inevitable transitions of life and death, offering profound methods for understanding the process of dying, death, and rebirth, and for achieving enlightenment during these transitions.
Thursday, January 29th to Friday January 30th, 2-5pm & 7-9pm, and Saturday, January 31st, 10am-12pm & 2-5pm: Khenpo Tenzin Nyima Rinpoche will give teachings on the Three Roots practice from the Yangzab terma cycle. The Damchö Gongpa Yangzab (Innermost Profound Realization of the Sublime Dharma) is a treasure terma revealed by Drikung Rinchen Phuntsok. The Three Roots practice is the main deity practice from this cycle, and is often considered the gateway to this precious set of teachings. The Three Roots are the guru, yidam deity, and dakini, and in the Yangzab, they are Guru Padmasambhava, Hayagriva, and Vajravarahi.
Sunday, February 1st Khenpo Rinpoche will kindly bestow the Three Roots empowerment from the Yangzab terma cycle 10am-12pm. The retreat will end in the afternoon with a Tsok, final dedications, and prayers for auspicious good fortune, concluding at 5pm.
