This fundraiser is dedicated to providing free art supplies, signage, marketing, advocacy, and creative support for underserved populations, children, adults, business employees, aid for our group of volunteers with support, food & water, at our Art Break Day site in Santa Monica. We believe a healthy, vibrant, and well-balanced society is one in which everyone regularly participates in the arts. Art Break Day is about everyone—making art accessible to a wider audience and connecting communities through creativity.

$3 Donation: A small but mighty contribution! With just $3, you help provide basic art supplies like markers, crayons, and paper to participants who otherwise wouldn't have access. Every bit counts in igniting someone's creative spark.
$33 Donation: A more substantial gift, $33 covers the cost of a full art kit for a participant, including paints, brushes, canvases, and more. This not only provides the tools needed for creative expression but also supports our efforts in building a vibrant and inclusive community.

This initiative will:

Help those who do not have access to art supplies: By providing free art supplies, we ensure everyone can participate in the joy of creating art. Our transformative art facilitators inspire the community to create and connect together.
Build community and foster positive vibes: Art Break Day brings people together, fostering a sense of community and spreading positive energy.
Offer a breath of fresh air: Everyday people can take a creative break, enhancing their well-being and mental health.

We promote the notion that everyone is an artist and can and should create art. On Art Break Day, we invite participation in as many locations as possible. Each participant becomes part of the social sculpture that is Art Break Day, with each interaction adding to the composition of the art space and public space. As artworks are created and installed, the public space transforms, benefiting from a culture integrated with art.

Make Art with the World on September 6, 2024

Santa Monica, CA — On September 6, 2024, join us at Virginia Avenue Park, 2200 Virginia Ave., Santa Monica, CA 90405, from 11 AM to 4 PM for the 14th Annual Art Break Day. This free event, open to everyone, offers all necessary art supplies and facilitators. In collaboration with the City of Santa Monica, Art is Moving Co-Founder Lisa Rasmussen, her Harmonia Institute, and Beth Benson, founder of the Crestline Creatrix Matrix, we invite you to be part of this global art-making celebration to help make the world a better place through creativity! Since 2011, Art Break Day has inspired over sixty thousand people worldwide to pause from their busy lives and make art for free.
