Heat. Hot water. Lights on. These aren't luxuries. They are the baseline of a dignified life, and right now, families across our community are being forced to choose.

Across the country, benefits are being slashed. Programs that once helped families scrape by no longer stretch far enough. The safety net has frayed, and the people falling through it are our neighbors, our community members, people who reached out to us because they had nowhere else to turn.

When someone contacts Global Solidarity Network Seattle in need of utility support, we move fast. Within 24 to 48 hours, we work to get help in whatever form makes sense: direct cash, bill payment, gift cards, or coordination with local partners. We have supported dozens of families this way, and we are proud of every single one.

But we won't pretend the need isn't bigger than our capacity. More people reach out than we are able to help, and that is the honest truth. Every dollar donated to this fund means one more family that doesn't have to sit in the dark. One more child who falls asleep warm.
