Thomas & Phoebe Jackson Memorial Veterans’ Fund

Created and managed by United Way of North Central Pennsylvania, this board-directed fund honors the memory of Thomas and Phoebe Jackson, the parents of Past Board Chair Patti Jackson-Gehris. Thomas Lee Jackson, an Airman Third Class in the United States Air Force, trained as an E Series System Mechanic and proudly served our country until his honorable discharge in 1959. His wife, Phoebe Jackson, had a deep and lifelong passion for supporting veterans in her community. Together, their legacy continues through this dedicated fund, which supports the needs of veterans in Lycoming, Sullivan, and Tioga Counties. The fund accepts memorial gifts as well as public donations to fulfill its mission.

It is administered by the United Way of North Central Pennsylvania to provide responsive and targeted support for those who have served. This initiative reflects our organization's enduring respect for veterans and our ability to mobilize local philanthropy for lasting impact. Together, we can ensure our local heroes are never forgotten—and always supported.
