Story
The Valentine Project is a 501(c)3 charitable organization that works to support children from birth to 21 years whose lives are affected by cancer or chronic illness. The volunteer-driven organization sends one-of-a-kind Valentines filled with love, hope, and joy across the miles to kids in California, Kentucky, and Ohio.
The Valentine Project was founded by siblings Gregory and Michaela Margida to cultivate compassion for these children. They discovered that dealing with these diagnoses can be especially lonely for patients and siblings alike, and Valentine’s Day – a day that focuses on love – often highlights that loneliness.
At The Valentine Project, our goal is for all children whose lives are affected by cancer or a chronic illness to feel special and loved each Valentine’s Day, and to cultivate compassion year-round through offering volunteer opportunities that bring out the love and kindness in us all.
Together, we can make the world a kinder place, where all people feel loved and valued.
