A quick background about our connection to epilepsy: Sarah’s father, Charlie, was diagnosed with epilepsy when he was 18 years old. Our son, Jack, was also diagnosed at the age of 8 back in 2008. …and our beautiful cousin Stephanie, started to experience seizures several years ago. We are participating in the Walk for One event in honor of Charlie, Jack, and Stephanie and to give back to Epilepsy Services of NJ (ESNJ), an organization that provided understanding, support, and empowerment to our family………and continue to do so for many more within NJ and beyond. Our journey brought us to ESNJ a year after Jack’s diagnosis, where the support, guidance, and ability to help others has truly helped our family. One call to ESNJ changed everything in the way we coped and managed the road head. There are all kinds of support that ESNJ offers: whether you just want to speak to someone who truly understands, partake in seizure first aid training for school and the workplace (click here to take the training and learn about Paul’s Law - https://epilepsyservicesnj.org/pauls-law/ ), connect with other families, come to events or even volunteer and work on special projects…….there’s something for everyone to not feel alone and make the journey a bit better.
