The Box Shop is where big art is born. We're a collaborative workspace and art studio for Bay Area artists focused on metal and industrial arts. Our mission is to support artists and the creation of high-quality art through shared access to tools, skills, and knowledge. We focus on enabling artists from underrepresented communities.

The Box Shop's future is at risk after serving thousands of local artists and makers for 23 years. The Box Shop’s lease will end in 2026 with no option to renew.

We are working on securing a permanent home, so we can continue supporting Bay Area artists and nurturing the creative community we have built. We have already raised over $2.3 million through private donations, government grants, and SBA loans, but we still need to raise an additional $3 million over the next 3 years to close the remaining gap. This will allow us to purchase a property and build out a new forever home. We need your help to succeed and save The Box Shop!
