LOVEPAWS (League of Volunteers Enhancing P.G. Animal Welfare and Safety) is an outreach, advocacy and rescue organization improving the welfare of the underdogs in our community: shelter animals, community cats and pet owners in under-resourced communities in Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties, MD. We provide critical community services such as our pet pantry, support to colony caretakers and spay/neuter subsidies to owned pets and community cats to help keep pets in homes and out of our local overcrowded shelters. As part of our rescue operations, we pull at-risk animals from local shelters, with a focus on the pit bulls of Prince George’s County and more challenging medical cases. By keeping families whole and reducing the number of at-risk animals in our local shelters, we are uplifting our community, one pet and one family at a time.
