In the heart of the community, where the green fields of Hartsuff Park meet the sky, a unique event is blossoming, spearheaded by three remarkable individuals, all living with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). Tyson, the visionary founder of Type One Inc., Danielle, a Motivational Diabetes Coach, and Dayna, who brings her expertise in graphic design and printing, have come together to host an event that promises not just to raise funds but also spirits.

Disc for Diabetes kicks off at 9 AM on October 4th, 2025 at Hartsuff Park in Rockland, transforming the Frisbee Golf Course into a battleground of fun and fundraising. This event is an 18+ adult event. With an entry fee of $50, 18 teams of four will compete, not only for the title of the best disc golf team but also for the chance to support a noble cause. Participants are encouraged to fundraise, with incentives that sweeten the deal, all going towards supporting Type One Inc.’s mission. This initiative aids in providing financial assistance, educational resources, and empowerment for those living with T1D, funding scholarships for college students, and subsidizing summer camps for kids with diabetes.

Following the competitive spirit of the morning, the event transitions into a vibrant community festival open to all, where the essence of unity and support shines. From 10 PM to 2 PM on October 4th, 2025 on the fields of Hartsuff Park will be alive with live music, diverse food trucks, and activities for children, creating a space where everyone can learn about and support the T1D community.

A special highlight is the T1D VIP area, a sanctuary for those with T1D to connect, share experiences, and enjoy exclusive perks. Here, Danielle will offer insights into living well with diabetes, showcasing how life coaching can make a tangible difference in managing this condition.
Local vendors will also join in, adding to the festive atmosphere and contributing to the fundraising efforts. Every donation made at the community event will help further the research at the Faustman Lab at Massachusetts General Hospital, where groundbreaking work towards a cure for T1D is being conducted.
