International Vanishing Twin Syndrome Foundation

Purpose

The International Vanishing Twin Syndrome Foundation (IVTSF) is a parent- and provider-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to advancing research, education, and support for individuals and families affected by vanishing twin syndrome (VTS).

Mission

The Foundation aims to:

  1. Promote Research & Awareness – Support and disseminate scientific studies on VTS and its psychological, medical, and developmental implications.

  2. Provide Education & Resources – Develop and distribute educational materials for healthcare providers, patients, and the general public to increase awareness and understanding.

  3. Support Families & Individuals – Offer information on counseling, support groups, and other relevant community resources to assist those affected by VTS. (The Foundation does not offer any counseling/support groups directly)

  4. Advocate for Improved Medical Guidelines – Collaborate with medical institutions and policymakers to integrate best practices in prenatal care and postnatal support for cases involving multifetal loss.

  5. Facilitate Knowledge Translation – Bridge the gap between research and practice by developing practical tools for healthcare institutions and patient advocacy groups.
