For months, we’ve been having behind-the-scenes conversations about creating Verily Teen, a magazine that encourages teen girls to unplug and thrive as themselves. In April, we publicly announced this dream project of ours, and invited you, dear readers, to help us make it a reality.

The first step was gathering input. We shared a survey for teens and a survey for adults who regularly interact with teens, and we’re so grateful for the responses we’ve received thus far! Please continue sharing these surveys with those you know.

The second step is gauging interest and securing funds—and that’s where we are now. We’re pleased to announce the Verily Teen Kickstarter campaign.

To launch Verily Teen, we’d need to raise $30,000 per issue. For each issue we’ll be paying a talented team of photographers, writers, stylists, and more to create the highest quality all-new magazine for our teen girls. In addition, it would cover the costs for it to be edited and designed by our quality team and printed in the USA. We hope this campaign for the first issue will kickstart the momentum in subscription numbers to support printing four issues/year quarterly.

We’ll also be using this budget to have as wide an impact on the culture in general as possible, reaching teen girls in the USA, UK, and beyond with the message that their worth is not up for debate, and that they are enough exactly as they are. We plan to work with schools and youth groups to get as many free copies as possible into the hands of girls who could benefit from Verily Teen.

This work will only go ahead if we reach our fundraising goal. This means that you will only be charged if and when that happens and this Kickstarter campaign ends. You can find all the details, including rewards for different levels of giving, right here.
