Our Story
Tired of personally experiencing failed “programs” and after suffering abuse and exploitation from corrupt Non-Profits, a small group of beleaguered homeless veterans banded together in July of 2021. Pooling their VA disability benefits and taking control of their own PTSD recovery, they drew inspiration from a quote: “The inferior man argues about his rights, while the superior man imposes duties on himself.” With this powerful truth in mind they imposed upon themselves sobriety and service to the community in hopes of healing each other.
After acquiring a property for communal sober living they began to attract fellow veterans and family members suffering from PTSD to join in their journey of healing. The group being aware of their own limitations invited help; but only from trusted and proven organizations and community members. A patriotic response from community was immediate. Showing a love of God and Country, volunteers came to offer jobs, counseling, service projects and help in various other ways. From this union of civic minded veterans and patriots the organization took its name: Veterans & Patriots United.
VPU offers Veterans and First Responders a life of significance by providing assistance to transition from a dysfunctional and disconnected living experience to one of integration with the functional community around them. The assistance is provided through short-term housing, professional counseling, life plan development and skills, along with success oriented experiential opportunities realized through hands on service and employment opportunities. All of these efforts are founded on the Truth of Jesus Christ as expressed in biblical scriptures of Matthew 7:24-27; Matthew 28-18-20, Acts 1:8 and Gal 5:22-23.

In addition to monetary donations, donations of food, clothing, bedding, etc. are also greatly appreciated. Many residents come to us with just the clothes on their backs so any and all donations are welcomed! To facilitate physical donations, please get in contact at [email protected].
Veterans and Patriots United is a faith-based organization helping Veterans and First Responders lead a significant life serving their communities. Their personalized approach offers short-term housing, counseling, and connections with others who have gone through a similar journey. Following Jesus' teachings, the organization supports and honors these brave men and women, empowering them with skills to transition back into civilian life with purpose.
