Honoring Matthew: A Lifetime Path Forward for Veterans and Their Families

After years of service in the United States Marine Corps, our son Matthew Saoit came home from Iraq carrying invisible wounds—Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). He fought for his country with honor, yet when he needed help rebuilding his civilian life and career, that support simply wasn’t there. Matthew’s story is far too common. Thousands of veterans and their loved ones return home only to face unemployment, isolation, and uncertainty about their future.

That is why we created VetPath Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Rex and I are personally self-funding the launch because we refuse to let another veteran walk the same painful road Matthew did.
