Having a safe community and having 5 or more adults who care about you to help you become your best self should be the experience of every child.

Sadly, thousands of Ankeny and nearby community youth live with abuse, feelings of hopelessness, poor mental health, bullying and violence each day with little support. Then substance abuse, gang participation, suicide, and violence become the answer. These negative factors cost our community millions of dollars.

A youth center saves a community hundreds of millions of dollars over 3-5 years and experiences 80% fewer violent crimes, drug-related deaths, suicides, human trafficking, and students struggling academically. Families benefit by having a safe place for their kids to play, no-cost after-school and low-cost evening programs for ALL children, and affordable day camps and summer camps.
