On behalf of The Satcher Health Leadership Institute at the Morehouse School of Medicine, 100 Black Men of Atlanta, Inc., The King Center, and the Mayor’s Office of Violence Reduction, we are pleased to invite you to participate and offer your valuable input at an exclusive pre-symposium, held in advance of our Third Annual Violence Prevention Symposium in the first quarter of 2027.

This pre-symposium is by invitation only and convenes policymakers, state and federal officials, corporate, education, and community leaders, public health experts, law enforcement professionals, and influential clergy.

The pre-symposium’s objectives are to: Review current trends in lethal violence; Voice your key concerns; Explore innovative strategies for preventing lethal violence including suicide; Explore conflict resolution and reconciliation techniques; Advance mental health awareness; Introduce data tools; Create collaborative initiatives and action plans with measurable results in reducing deaths.

Featured renowned speakers have included Mark Rosenberg, MD, former CEO of the Task Force for Global Health and a nationally recognized public health researcher; Joseph Sakran, MD, MPH, Vice Chair for Clinical Operations at Johns Hopkins Hospital; and David Satcher, MD, PhD, 16th Surgeon General of the United States, Founding Director of the Satcher Health Leadership Institute, and former President of Morehouse School of Medicine, among others.
