Dear Future: A Bucknell Student-Led Campaign for Community Transformation

This semester, students from the Bucknell School of Management’s Company D are proud to launch Dear Future, a student-run company with a mission rooted in real-world impact. As part of a semester-long experiential learning project, the team is partnering with the Donald Heiter Community Center to reimagine and revitalize key spaces that serve our community.

The Vision

The Donald Heiter Community Center is a cornerstone of connection, learning, and support in Lewisburg. With your help, we aim to:

Relocate and reimagine the library into cozy, integrated reading nooks throughout the building
Expand the food pantry by moving it into the former library space, allowing for greater access and storage
Transform the old pantry into a welcoming office for our future childcare director

What We’re Funding

To bring this vision to life, we’re raising funds to purchase:

A new desk, chair and filing cabinet for the childcare office
Shelving and storage solutions for the expanded food pantry
A reading nook, books, paint, flooring, and signage to create inviting, functional spaces

Beyond the Build

Our team will also lead a marketing campaign to inform and engage the community, families, donors, and volunteers about these exciting changes.

In addition to soliciting donations we’re hosting three fun and meaningful events to support our mission:

A restaurant fundraiser (location TBD) where a portion of proceeds will benefit our project
A festive Thanksgiving Candy Gram sale on Bucknell’s campus—send sweet messages and treats to friends while supporting a great cause
A cozy apple cider stand to warm hearts and raise funds
