Our Theme

“In light of the universe we’ve inherited and the gift of our lives, what kind of human beings ought we be? What kind of human beings does the God of the universe require of us?”

The belief that each person is imbued with a spark of the divine is foundational to LA Voice’s mission. It is why we stand firm in our commitment to transforming LA County into one of equity and abundance for all. As the late Rev. Lawson suggests, it is how we cultivate that spark, that light, that makes all the difference.

We chose the theme “This Little Light” in honor of our divine sparks, the legacies we leave behind that brighten our world in the midst of challenge and struggle. This year, we honor the legacy of one of our brightest lights, Rev. Zach Hoover, who is transitioning out of his role at LA Voice after years of leadership. We also honor our community of leaders — past, present, and future — who will no doubt carry the torch until all are bathed in light.

La creencia que cada persona está infundida con una chispa del divino es fundamental a la misión de LA Voice. Es la razón por la cual nos mantenemos firmes en nuestro compromiso de transformar el Condado de Los Ángeles en uno de equidad y abundancia para todos. Como sugiere el recientemente fallecido Rev. Lawson, es la manera en que cultivamos esa chispa, esa luz, que hace la diferencia.

Elegimos el tema “Esta Pequeña Luz” (This Little Light) en honor a nuestras chispas divinas, los legados que dejamos que iluminan nuestro mundo en medio de los desafíos y luchas. Este año, honramos el legado de una de nuestras luces más brillantes, el Rev. Zach Hoover, quien está haciendo la transición para dejar su papel en LA Voice después de años de liderazgo. También honramos a nuestra comunidad de líderes – del pasado, presente, y futuro – quienes sin duda llevarán la antorcha hasta que todos estemos bañados en la luz.
