Tyler Tolley for Saratoga Springs
Hi! I'm Tyler Tolley, and I'm running for Saratoga Springs City Council.
Since moving here in 2016, I’ve witnessed the explosive growth our city has experienced over the last decade. With that growth come challenges like traffic and safety that we must address. However, if we only focus on solving problems, we’re just making the city bearable. I’m committed to going the extra mile to make sure Saratoga Springs is a place people are proud to call home.
Financial transparency is extremely important to me. For the primary in August, I was determined to run a low cost, self funded campaign. Making sure my message resonates with residents is way more important to me than spending money to get my name out there. However, going into the general election I need to do both. I'm asking for donations to be able to more effectively raise awareness about what I'm running on.
Here's how this money will be spent:
- Flyers
- Text Messages
- Social Media Ad Campaigns
As far as what I'm running to accomplish, these are things I'd like to focus on:
Traffic – Because Saratoga Springs carries the traffic burden for everyone living in Eagle Mountain and farther west, we must focus both on efficient travel through the city and on improving local traffic within the city. We also need better solutions for peak traffic hours like school drop-off and rush hour.
Parks – More shade! Many of our parks are wide open fields with no comfortable place to sit and relax. We should also continue adding parks with unique features like an amphitheater or splash pad. Parks should be true gathering spaces where people can connect comfortably—not just large areas of grass.
Trails – We need to ensure our city is well connected for non-automobile traffic. That means raising awareness about existing trails and continuing to build safe pathways that connect neighborhoods with community spaces like parks, schools, and local businesses.
Safety – As our city grows, making sure our police and firefighters are adequately funded and staffed is critical. We also need strong emergency preparedness plans for situations like floods, landslides, or wildfires.
As the city continues to grow and evolve, we must do so in a financially responsible way. That includes staying within our current budget and working collaboratively with residential and commercial developers to complete projects effectively.
