Holi 4 Hope is an annual event that the students at Lake Park South Asian Student Alliance host to honor South Asian culture and identity. Holi 4 Hope represents the start of spring, and we will be throwing brightly colored powder to represent renewal, solidarity, and new beginnings! Holi is known as the festival of colors and love. The festival includes celebrants throwing brightly colored powders into the air and onto each other.
We are growing the event this year by building community and connection with each other to stop the stigma around mental health in the South Asian community. The day signifies liberation, equality, and freedom! Our community matters, our children matter, our culture matters, and our mental health matters! All donations will go to a local mental health charity. SASA is working with Advocate for 708 (https://www.advocatefor708.org/), and all donations will go to a local mental health organization to fight the stigma on mental health. Holi Registration Form. Registration includes color packets, water balloons, a DJ, food, and refreshments! Be sure to wear white!! If interested in attending, please fill out this form. The festival includes celebrants throwing brightly colored powders into the air and onto each other.
