BHR is a California-based 501(c)(3) horse and livestock rescue dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating neglected and abandoned animals while serving the local community through youth horsemanship education and equine-assisted healing programs for veterans experiencing PTSD and emotional hardship.

BHR currently provides care for 24 rescued animals, including horses, alpacas, cows, sheep, donkeys, and goats, and annually serves approximately 50 youth and 5 veterans through formal, informal, and emergency-based programming. These programs provide animal care education, riding, mentorship, and therapeutic interaction that benefit both participants and rescued animals.

With your help funding will support essential animal care and program costs, including boarding, veterinary and farrier care, staff support, equipment, feed, and nutritional supplements.
