Maryland Health Care Coalition Against Domestic Violence

Our Mission

The Maryland Health Care Coalition Against Domestic Violence was formed in 1998 under the Center for a Healthy Maryland to provide leadership within the health care community to promote a proactive and effective response to intimate partner violence (IPV) through screening, identification, education, intervention and treatment of IPV victims.

What We Do

The Coalition collaborates with other health care, domestic violence and sexual assault professionals, including the state’s hospital-based domestic violence victim advocacy programs, the Center for a Healthy MarylandMedChi and the Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence to educate professionals in meeting the clinical challenges of intimate partner violence.

The Coalition offers presentations, seminars and conferences to educate Maryland health care providers and allied professionals about intimate partner violence-related issues. The Coalition also can provide expert consultation and technical assistance. We make available all of our educational materials for professionals, as well as outreach materials designed to inform patients about the health-related consequences of IPV.
